Bill Bartlett, Director of Corporate Affairs, McCain Foods

Bill Bartlett was appointed McCain Corporate Affairs Director in July 2006. Prior to this role, Bartlett was sales director of McCain Food Service for seven years and has been with the company for 17 years. Bartlett joined in 1989 as a territory manager and looked after a region in the Midlands. Bartlett soon progressed to regional manager and national account manager and in 1996 was seconded to central Europe. Bartlett returned in 1998 to run the sales function in Food Service.

During his time at McCain, Bartlett has embraced the need to change and adapt quickly and bring innovative solutions to its business process.
Mike Bonnici, European Demand Planning Manager, HJ Heinz Company Ltd

Mike Bonnici is the European Demand Planning Manager for H. J. Heinz Company Ltd. Where he has been involved in the establishment and on-going development of the companies demand forecasting process across Europe

He is now involved with Heinz’s European affiliates helping to develop S&OP to support their Integrated Business Management process

Prior to this he has worked for United Biscuits in various functions including Distribution, Customer service, Production planning, Sales admin, Marketing and Demand Forecasting.
Harry Briggs, Co-founder and Marketing Director, Firefly Tonics
Harry Briggs joined McKinsey & Co., the strategic consultancy, after graduating from Oxford in 1998. He worked on marketing and retail projects in London and New York, before being headhunted to the marketing strategy team at "3" (Hutchison 3G) in 2001.   In 2002, he founded Firefly, the first healthy functional drinks, with a school friend, Marcus Waley-Cohen. Firefly launched in August 2003 in Harvey Nichols, was in instant hit, and is now sold in many of the best stores not only in London, but also New York, Paris, Amsterdam, Sydney and Tokyo. Firefly currently has seven full-time employees looking to expand to fifteen by the end of the year, and Harry heads up marketing and product development.
Helen Browning, Food and Farming Director, The Soil Association
Helen Browning OBE tenant farms a 1,350 acre organic livestock and arable farm in Wiltshire.  She is the founder of Eastbrook Farms Organic Meat and is the Soil Association’s Food and Farming Director. Helen is chairman of the England Animal Health and Welfare Implementation Group; and the Food Ethics Council.  She is also a member of the Meat and Livestock Commission, the Red Meat Industry Forum, and a director of the Organic Milk Suppliers Co-operative (OMSCO).  She was a member of the Agriculture and Environment Biotechnology Commission (AEBC) throughout its life (disbanded April 2005).  She has worked with many food and farming organisations over the last twenty years, and was a member of the Government’s Policy Commission on the Future of Farming and Food (‘the Curry Commission’).  She was awarded an OBE in 1998 for services to organic farming.
Enrico Camerinelli, Chief Analyst and European Director, Supply Chain Council

Enrico Camerinelli, Supply Chain Council Chief Analyst and European Director has extensive experience implementing and streamlining complex matrices of customers, partners and suppliers. In his past tenure at META Group as Vice President and Research Leader for Supply Chain and Business Management Applications, he focused on models and methodologies for return-on-investment evaluations and total cost of ownership models. Enrico’s research also encompassed supply chain management, integration of enterprise resource planning systems with marketplaces and manufacturing applications for vertical industries.

Prior to META Group, he gained experience in plant and logistics / operational management through work with several European automobile manufacturers and held a senior marketing position with JD Edwards in Italy.

Enrico received a degree in Electronic Engineering from Universita La Sapienza in Rome.

Enrico speaks Italian, English and Spanish fluently.
Richard Cox, Assistant Director Customer Brands Sales, Baxters Food Group

A graduate of the University of Birmingham, Richard Cox began his career in the mid 1980'swith Grand Met Brewing in sales and marketing before moving to Taunton Cider, finishing his career there as Senior Brands Manager launching new products and brands into the marketplace.

A move to Douwe Egberts UK as Trade Development Manager saw the launching of Continental Gold into the UK market.  This was then followed by a period of time at Whitbread Beer Company which saw Richard working on a variety of new product launches and trade introductions as Marketing Manager for the On Trade, including Tooheys, Boston Beer and Boddingtons Draught Flow.

Moving to Butcher's Pet Care as Commercial Marketing Manager followed, working on the launch of successful new products into pet care.

Latterly Richard’s career has taken him to Baxters Food Group initially as Senior Category Manager before becoming General Manager of CCL Foods, an acquisition, and to date Assistant Director Customer Brand Sales where he has developed and implemented successfully a range of retailer brand NPD and licensed brand NPD.
James Dorling, Development Manager - Environmental Stores, Tesco

James Dorling has worked for Tesco for five years and leads Tesco’s work to develop their environmental stores and deliver the resulting improvements into the Tesco estate.

Tesco has delivered three environmental stores in Diss, Swansea and most recently Wick. The next store in Shrewsbury will open in spring 2007.

Before joining Tesco, James worked in Industry and Management Consultancy.
Dominic Dyer, Executive Director, Soya Protein Association

Dominic Dyer joined the Food and Drink Federation (FDF) in 2000 having spent most of his career in the UK Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Food (MAFF). During his career in MAFF he worked in a number of key food policy areas both within the UK and in the European Commission in Brussels covering issues such as external trade policy, organic farming developments and areas relating to the European Common Agricultural and Fisheries Policies.

Dominic is Executive Director of the Soya Protein Association which operates from the FDF and is the leading voice of the rapidly expanding European Soya Food Industry. He is also the Membership Services Manager for the Food and Drink Federation.

In addition to his food industry interests, Dominic is also

·    Fellow and a Director of the British American Project

·    Chairman of Care for the Wild International

Dominic is a regular speaker at international conferences and seminars in Europe, United States and around the world on food industry, conservation and foreign policy issues.
Ed Garner, Communications Director, TNS Worldpanel

Since joining TNS in 1998 as an Account Director within the Television Consumer Audit division, Ed Garner has been instrumental in raising the company’s profile in order to increase its customer base and position it as a leading market research company.

Throughout his professional career, Ed has gained vast knowledge of the promotions, advertising and grocery retailing sectors, which he has implemented across a variety of roles. He began his working life in Unilever, gaining experience in sales and marketing, before taking charge of Continuous Research for Elida Gibbs. 

Ed is a well-respected individual in his field and is regularly invited to speak at key international industry events. To date, he has presented at conferences across Europe, USA, Australasia and Asia Pacific for numerous organisations including IGD, Citigroup, McKinsey, Marketing Week, ADMAP, AGRA, The Grocer and many leading UK FMCG clients. In addition he is a regular commentator within the media on retail and FMCG topics.

Ed graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge with an MA in Natural Sciences - Psychology. Ed is married with two daughters.  In his spare time he actively enjoys music, playing the violin in several orchestras, as well as skiing, cycling and public speaking.
Lawrence Hutter, Managing Partner Global Consumer Business, Deloitte
Lawrence Hutter leads the global Consumer Business consulting practice at Deloitte. Over the past twenty years he has worked with many of the best known global consumer products manufacturers on a wide variety of strategic business performance improvement initiatives across the food, beverage, personal care and household products sectors. Lawrence focuses on strategies for brand protection, growth, improved profitability, trade account development and end-to-end value chain optimization. He is one of the world’s most successful practitioners in the use of technology solutions as a platform for business and supply chain restructuring and as a catalyst for real business transformation.
Tamar Kasriel, Head of Knowledge Venturing, The Henley Centre
Tamar Kasriel is a Director of Henley Centre HeadlightVision, and Head of Knowledge Venturing. She ensures we continue to develop inspiring, agenda setting global consumer insight. She has extensive experience in helping companies bring the consumer into the heart of their business, whether through strategic planning, visioning or new product development. Tamar is valued for her creative thinking, international outlook and communication skills. She acts as a spokesperson for Henley Centre to the press and on public platforms.
Tamar joined Henley Centre from The Guardian newspaper’s New Media Lab. She has also worked in France and Japan, and has degrees in History and Japanese. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Mehmood Khan, Global Leader Innovation Process and Development, Unilever

Mehmood Khan originates from India and has lived in Holland, Singapore and is now living in the UK. He graduated from HAU Hissar and Post Graduated in Management in 1977 from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA).While still at IIMA, Mehmood worked with Prof Ravi J Matthai on Experiments in Educational Innovation. On graduation from IIMA, Mehmood  worked in the Voluntary sector, making Indian livestock more productive resources and creating cottage industries. This work led Mehmood to building professional farmers organisations.

Mehmood has been with Unilever since 1982 and has worked in wide areas of the business; Marketing, Exports, Procurement, Business Development and Innovation. Out of 22 years in Unilever, 10 years have been in pioneering new Unilever business in places such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia and North Korea, along with developing new portfolios in China and other countries in East Asia.

Mehmood is currently the Global Leader for Unilever Innovation Process Development which has added yet another dimension to his expertise in the Unilever Business of accelerating business growth through Innovation by following common global process and systems.  The nature of this work involves working with people around Unilever by establishing Unilever Innovation Communities across the business; spanning across Categories, Brands, Continents and Country boundaries.

Through Mehmood's drive, these Innovation communities provide a platform for Building Innovation capabilities, incubate creativities, and grow them into true business innovations.

Mehmood is Managing Trustee of Rasuli Kanwar Khan Trust and IIM Europe and a Trustee of GEN Initiative UK.

Mehmood has been married to Sanobar for 27 years. Together they have two college going children.  Sanobar runs her own North Indian Restaurant business in Mongolia and an Electronics Marketing company in the UK, China & India.

Leo Martin, Director, GoodCorporation
Leo Martin is a founder and Director of GoodCorporation. He is the principal character in the BBC series Good Company, Bad Company about corporate responsibility and he is also author of 'From Principles to Profits' the BBC Learning book about putting corporate responsibility into practice. He graduated with a first class degree in economics and an MPhil from Cambridge University in development economics. He started his career as a Fellow of the Overseas Development Institute and then went to KPMG where he worked for eight years on economics and strategy for governments and companies worldwide.
Hilary Parsons, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, Nestle

Hilary Parsons has worked for Nestlé for 16 years.  Most recently she was heavily involved in the company’s latest sustainability initiative, the launch of Nescafé Partners Blend Fairtrade Certified Coffee.

She has made regular visits to Africa and Central America, mainly in connection with sustainable coffee sourcing.

Before joining Nestlé, Hilary worked for ICI as well as the water and electricity industries.
Hamish Renton, Managing Director, Riviera Desserts (Uniq Plc)
After buying roles at Argos, Hamish joined Tesco and became Head of Own Brand, Health & Diet, with responsibility for 19,000 Tesco products. He launched some of the most iconic recent own label ranges including, Free From (wheat & gluten free foods), Fair Trade, Carb Control and Wholefoods. He is the author of the best selling 'GI Guide' with Canadian Rick Gallop, one of the fastest moving diet books of recent years, with over 400,000 copies sold in 2005 alone and was serialised in the Sunday Times and the Telegraph. At Tesco, he was instrumental in developing the GDA (Guideline Daily Amount) model of nutritional labelling, which is fast becoming the norm for the grocery sector.
Hamish joined pan-European chilled convenience foods manufacturer Uniq plc towards the end of 2005 as Managing Director of its Devon based desserts business in Paignton which he rebranded Riviera Desserts. Already he has stamped his own style on the business, securing record investment for the site from its parent company, winning new customers and, in particular, creating the next generation of genuinely healthy desserts for the UK retail market.
He holds a first degree from Cambridge, a Masters of Business Administration from Henley Management College and numerous business qualifications. Hamish is an amateur athlete in his spare time, in the past season completing the London Triathlon, London Duathlon, Great North Run & numerous charity road races.
Tarlok Teji, UK Retail Lead Partner, Deloitte
Tarlok is the UK Retail sector group Leader for the Consumer Business Industry Group.  He leads our retail advisory services focusing on performance measurement and process analysis.
He is the Enterprise Risk Services Partner responsible for the UK Governance, Risks & Controls services practice for the North of England.  He has been a partner at Deloitte for over ten years.
Tarlok has also worked in the industry for about ten years.  He has held three senior management positions with Tesco plc as Property Division Chief Finance Officer, Retail Finance Controller and Head of Corporate Audit.  He was Director of Special Projects as well as Director of Commercial Investigations & Audit at ASDA Group plc. Prior to this Tarlok was Director of Business Efficiency looking at business processes, benchmarking, market making and performance improvement. He was also Director of Supply Chain.
Tarlok is the lead Retail Finance tutor for the MBA programme for The Institute for Retail Studies at the University of Stirling.  He leads the faculty for the Deloitte Consumer Business Retail Academy in the UK.
Sue Temple, Head of Shopper Insights, Coca-Cola Enterprises European Group

A languages and business studies graduate from Bristol, Sue has worked within the FMCG industry for the duration of her 14 year career across a number of food & non-food categories with blue chip companies like Allied Domecq, Reckitt Benckiser & PepsiCo, in a variety of sales and marketing roles.  She joined Coca-Cola Enterprises in 2004 to head up their category management function with major grocery accounts, to understand shopper behaviour and unlock new opportunities for their retailer partners.

This role evolved and over the last year Sue has been focusing specifically on understanding the changing retail landscape and emergent shopper behaviour, a role which expanded in March into the Coca-Cola Enterprises European Group to develop shopper insights capabilities and best practice across the franchise.
Jonathan Walsh, Corporate Marketing and Communications Director, Nestle

Jon Walsh is currently on the board of Nestlé UK as their Marketing and Communications Director.  Jon is responsible with the board for the company’s new growth strategy, their transition to a Health, Nutrition and Wellness company, and overall Communications.

Previously Jon was Marketing Director for Nestlé Foodservices, responsible for growing key Nestlé brands out of home including Beverages (Nescafe, Gold Blend, Cappuccino and Aero Hot Chocolate), Food (Maggi, Chef, Toll House Cookies and Herta) and Confectionery (Kit Kat, Yorkie, Aero and Rowntrees).

Jon joined Nestlé in 2001 as the Kid’s Drinks and Strategic Innovation Marketing Director.

Jon joined Nestlé from Betfair.com / Flutter.com where he was the Marketing Director and founding employee of the world’s first person-to-person betting company.

Before this Jon was a Marketing Manager for Procter and Gamble responsible for Interactive TV and designed P&G’s approach to interactive advertising, including the award winning Pantene i-TV programme.  He also launched Sunny Delight which achieved £250 million sales in year one.  Prior to this he was the Assistant Brand Manager, Detergents looking after Ariel, Daz and Fairy Non-Bio, across all key elements of the marketing mix.
